The Anti-God
The belief in an Anti-God is nothing new. Zoroastrianism has held that God or Ahura Mazda has an evil opponent Angra Mainyu nearly his equal. He's more than Christianity's Satan, in not only is he a tempter, but interferes in the lives of good people. He makes what's good go wrong. The TV show "Quantum Leap" proposed the idea of an Anti-God in “The Boogieman.” He was Satan on steroids, and had the full power to alter the events of people's lives in an attempt to ruin God's plan. He would set wrong, what God had started as right. The Anti-God is referenced again in the episode, "MIA" when Al tries to get Sam to alter the timeline with his first wife, Beth. It's my belief an Anti-God exists, and he seeks out good people with the sole intention of destroying their lives, and in doing so prevent them from performing God's work. Call me crazy, but this is my explanation for why bad things happen to good people. Which is also why we must do good works, and help others as there is true evil in the world.
